A Tale of Toys - evening talk

The Hertfordshire museum service has been collecting objects like toys for over a hundred years, donated by people who have outgrown them. Recently their Curator, Matt Platt has been thinking about the tale of the toy, when did they first emerge? What sorts of things did people play with in the far distant past? Are toys from back then similar to today?
