The Four Elements - Lunchtime Talk
North Hertfordshire Museum, Brand Street, Hitchin, Herts SG5 1JE
12pm
Join curator and archaeologist Keith in this captivating lunchtime talk on the origin of the four elements and its links to our local area.
Before the growth of chemistry from the sixteenth century on, we in the west thought that there were four elements: earth, air, fire and water. We tend to think that the idea came from Greek scholarship, but archaeological evidence in North Hertfordshire suggests that its roots stretch back into remote prehistory.
Tickets £6.50 per person, available online or at the museum welcome desk (spaces limited.)
