Visit Hitchin Shop Refund and Returns Policy

Overview At Visit Hitchin Shop, we want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. Our refund and returns policy is valid for 30 days from the date of purchase. If more than 30 days have passed, we regret that we cannot offer a full refund or exchange.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused, in its original condition, and in the original packaging.

Non-Returnable Items Certain items cannot be returned, including:

  • Perishable goods (e.g., food, flowers, newspapers, magazines)
  • Intimate or sanitary items
  • Hazardous materials, flammable liquids, or gases
  • Gift cards
  • Downloadable software products
  • Certain health and personal care items

Proof of Purchase A receipt or proof of purchase is required to complete a return. Please do not send your purchase back to the manufacturer.

Partial Refunds In some cases, only partial refunds may be granted:

  • Books with clear signs of use
  • Opened CDs, DVDs, VHS tapes, software, video games, cassette tapes, or vinyl records
  • Items not in their original condition, damaged, or missing parts for reasons not due to our error
  • Items returned more than 30 days after delivery

Refund Process Once we receive and inspect your return, we will notify you by email of the approval or rejection of your refund. If approved, a refund will be processed to your original payment method within a certain number of days.

Late or Missing Refunds If you have not received a refund:

  1. Check your bank account again.
  2. Contact your credit card company (processing times may vary).
  3. Contact your bank (there may be a delay in posting the refund).
  4. If you have done all of the above and still haven’t received your refund, contact us at sales@visithitchin.com.

Sale Items Only regular-priced items may be refunded. Sale items are non-refundable.

Exchanges We only replace items if they are defective or damaged. If you need an exchange for the same item, email us at sales@visithitchin.com and send your item to: Hitchin Information 1A Churchyard, Hitchin, Herts, SG5 1HR

Gifts If the item was marked as a gift and shipped directly to you, you will receive a gift credit for the value of your return. Once the returned item is received, we will mail you a gift certificate.

If the item was not marked as a gift or was shipped to the gift giver first, we will issue a refund to the gift giver.

  • Customers are responsible for return shipping costs, which are non-refundable.
  • If you receive a refund, the cost of return shipping will be deducted.
  • Depending on your location, delivery times for exchanged items may vary.
  • For high-value returns, we recommend using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance, as we cannot guarantee receipt of your returned item.
